Presentation at an urbanisation workshop at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS)

Rapid urbanisation is transforming Nigeria as it struggles to transition from an oil dependent to an urban-industrial model of development. The workshop organised by the African Studies Programme at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) on 21 April, 2017, in Washington DC, offered a venue for Nigeria-watchers to debate strategies for transforming Nigeria’s emerging urban regions.

URN researchers Robin Bloch and Nikolaos Papachristodoulou presented an overview of urban and regional development in Nigeria drawing on from findings from ongoing research under the Urbanisation Research Nigeria (URN) programme.
