Makarem, URN researcher and lecturer in Political Economy of Development at UCL's Development Planning Unit (DPU), has published a new blog post about industrial development and business-civic leadership in Nigeria. Emerging from the ongoing “Agglomeration, Industrial Development and Business-Civic Leadership: A Case Study of Lagos, Kano and Port Harcourt” research project, it argues that a failure to focus political attention on investing in functional cities risks locking Nigeria into a low-productivity trap.
